Sea Freight

Except for Wuhan, all China Main Ports and terminals are working as usual but staffed at holiday levels. Operations at Wuhan are suspended until further notice. Our China offices are working, with a small number of people attending the office together with staff working at home and connected to our systems remotely. PRC Customs reported to work on the 3rd of February, but most container depots (outside the ports) and factories are closed for the rest of the week. There is very little moving by way of cargo, but we are able to make arrangements to ship any urgent goods. The lack of cargo is causing carriers to cancel more vessels at very short notice.

Fret aérien:

• Most international passenger flights into China have been cancelled
• Freighter flights are continuing but with reduced schedules since CNY, although these flights will come under review as there is no outbound production demand
• Carrier rates appear stable ex HKG, ICN, and SIN
• Capacity is stable ex HKG, ICN and SIN

The view looking forward, is to expect rate increases once Chinese production returns, as passenger capacity will still be missing.
